The camp site le Chanet, Ornans

The Camp site ‘Le Chanet’ is situated in the confines of the Jura Mountains, in the Vallée de la Loue in the Doubs, on the outskirts of the historic town of Ornans.

In addition to the usual camping pitches we also rent mobile-homes and châlets, furnished gîtes and a gîte d’étape as well as the latest addition of ‘chalet-hôtels’ which you can rent per night throughout the whole season.

A play area for the kids, a bouncy castle, the clean and heated sanitary blocks, all situated in a pretty wooded park of 2.2 hectares with a charming winding stream, is the perfect combination to bring relaxation and well-being to your holiday.

Le Chanet kids club is available to entertain your children of 3 years plus each morning from Sunday to Friday at no extra cost. Welcomed in a space reserved for them by coordinators speaking French, Dutch, English and German (1st July to August 31). They will be able to develop their artistic direction, be involved in fun outdoor activities, whilst respecting nature and sharing a moment with the club mascots.

We also propose each week, aqua-aerobics, pétanque competitions, ping-pong, paella evenings, a dance evening (free) as well as canoeing, climbing at the local ‘via ferrata’ with trained professionals (chargeable). We also rent bicycles with optional child seats at reasonable prices (ex: 5€/half day), reserve early to avoid disappointment !

Natural swimming pool

In 2009 Le Chanet opened a new space for completely ecological swimming experience, a swimming pool with crystalline waters, without chlorine or chemicals. Come to discover the pleasure of swimming in a pool with the quality of a mountain stream. There is a pool of 13x6 m, (depth 1.10 to 2.40 m) with a small water slide for the kids, a paddling pool of 6x3 m and a comfortable poolside space. Opening in April and closing October. Please note: the use of chemical sun screen is prohibited, but organic creams are permitted (available in our site shop, but please take a shower before swimming). Swimming shorts are also not allowed.

We count on each person to adopt a responsible approach and have to respect for this site so that it remains in accordance with the preserved environment "Natura 2000" in the Vallée de la Loue.

The Snack Bar "Oniric"

We welcome you as early as the 1st May from 8am to 10pm, with a timeless mood. You will be able to enjoy a refreshing drink, either on the terrace or inside while watching sport on the television... At mealtimes, you will be able to taste one of our numerous types of pizzas, chips, steak, sandwiches and ice creams. We also propose breakfast, which is preferable to reserve the day before. Finally, we can provide group meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, or perhaps a barbecue?

The site shop

A self-service shop, open as early as 8.15am (from the 1st June), we propose regional specialties, quality food products, fresh products, baby food, postcards, gas, but also bread and croissants (on order).

The swimming pool in Ornans

Just 2 km from Le Chanet, come to discover the new water complex "Nautiloue" (www.nautiloue.fr). There are two big pools, two exterior internal paddling pools, water slides, a sauna, a Jacuzzi, a hammam, a solarium and beach-volley ball.
